AGRICULTURAL MANAGER - BUSINESS COMMERCIAL BANKING - UK BANKING
The Agricultural Manager manages a portfolio of between 100 to 150 existing customer relationships, all of whom operate in the farming industry. Customers in the portfolio tend to be reasonably sized, fairly complex operations spread out across large geographical areas. The successful candidate is primarily responsible for generating new business with existing customers, protecting the portfolio from attrition and maximising opportunities to develop new customers and grow the portfolio. They have lending authority up to £250,000 through which they offer services direct to the customer.
Where appropriate, they will refer their customers to a product specialist or to a more senior Agriculture Manager if the complexity of their needs increases. The majority of their day is spent reviewing their portfolio, analysing trends and market data, visiting customers to discuss needs and make an assessment of lending, prospecting for new customers, and networking within the farming community to raise the profile of the Bank. They embody the ethos of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in every aspect of their role in order to provide needs focused, fair and informative customer service.
To succeed as an Agricultural Manager you will be sociable and outgoing; preferring to work with others; but with an element of independence. You will also need to be driven, dedicated and determined to achieve/exceed goals and customer expectations. The role would suit someone who is calm and relaxed even under heavy pressure in demanding work environments.
